About Fair Shot Cafe

Fair Shot Cafe is a not for profit cafe in Covent Garden, central London. They have a mission very similar to The Mencap Training Academy - to improve the rate at which people with a learning disability are in employment

Fair Shot offers Mencap Training Academy supported internship learners a work experience placement in their cafe. Learners gain employability skills such as customer service, communication, teamwork, as well as food preparation and barista skills.

Ella loved her work experience at Fair Shot Cafe. She worked super hard developing her customer service skills, as well as learning how to prepare food and make a great coffee! Ella's hard work paid off at the end of her supported internship as she applied the skills and experience gained at Fair Shot to get a paid job as a cafe assistant with bakery chain, Gail's.
