More than just a job

At the Mencap Training Academy, our colleagues are motivated by the knowledge that their work changes lives.

On this page, you can read about the different roles we recruit for within the Mencap Training Academy and how you could support young people with a learning disability and/or autism into work.

Our roles

Tutors

Our tutors deliver classroom learning sessions to learners on our courses, focusing on employability and functional skills. Supported by our curriculum manager and quality team, they deliver high-quality learning.

Watch our video and see what learners have to say about our sessions and hear from one of our tutors about their work.

Skills coaches

Our skills coaches provide one-to-one support to learners in the classroom and in work experience placements, helping them understand their responsibilities and complete tasks.

Skills coaches also work with employers to give them the support they need to make work experience placements a success for learners.
