What can I do on a work experience placement with Greene King?
On a Greene King placement you can learn how to:
- Work in the kitchens preparing food and cleaning
- Serve customers at the bar and at tables.

What skills will I need?
To attend this placement you will need to:
- Be a friendly and helpful person that has good customer service skills
- Work safely
- Work with equipment in a kitchen and behind a bar
- Have good time management skills.
We can offer work experience placements with Greene King in a number of their pubs in Birmingham and Solihull.
In between work experience, learners will need to attend classroom sessions at our Birmingham premises 1.5 days a week. The address is: The Lewis Building, Bull Street, Birmingham, B4 6AF.

To access these work experience placements, learners must enrol on one of our London supported internships and attend one of our London classrooms 1.5 days a week in-between work experience hours.

When does the Greene King placement take place?
Dates: September to July
Days: Tuesdays and Sundays
Time: 09:00 - 15:00 (depending on the shifts available and your level of confidence). Over the course of the year, you will need to complete 420 hours in the workplace.
What's it like on a Greene King placement?
Renee's story
Renee completed our supported internship in Birmingham and did her work experience at Greene King's Manor Farm pub.
Renee loved her placement at the pub and working with her highly supportive team (who were recognised as one of our employer of the month award winners). She secured a paid job at the pub at the end of the programme.
